Timothy J. Gardner is Executive Vice President of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified
manufacturer of highly engineered components and industrial systems and consumables. With $15.9 billion in revenues,
ITW is a multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time industrial products
and equipment. The Company consists of 840 business units in 60 countries and employs some 60,000 people.
Professional Background
Mr. Gardner has been with ITW since 1997 and has held a series of management roles within the Consumer Packaging
businesses. Most recently, he served as Group President, Consumer Products, with responsibility for the Minigrip,
Hi-Cone, Zip-Pak, Space Bag and Heat Transfer businesses. In 2009, he was named Executive Vice President. He is
responsible for the Company's Global Consumer Packaging businesses as well as the Marking, Coding, Decorative
Equipment and Strength Film businesses.
Educational Background
He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Bucknell University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Farleigh
Dickinson University.
Professional and Personal Affiliations
Mr. Gardner is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Keep America Beautiful and a Board Member of the
Glenwood School, West Campus, Chicago. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of The Beer Institute and
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Illinois.
