Roland M. Martel is Executive Vice President of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturer
of highly engineered components and industrial systems and consumables. With $15.9 billion in revenues, ITW is a
multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time industrial products and equipment.
The Company consists of 840 business units in 60 countries and employs some 60,000 people.
Professional Background
Mr. Martel joined ITW in 1994 as the General Manager of ITW Anchor Stampings. Over the years, he has held various Vice President and President positions in the ITW Metal Components division. Prior to his current position, he served as President of ITW�s Global Automotive Division, and in 2006, became Executive President of the Global Automotive Components businesses. In 2010, Mr. Martel became Executive Vice President for the entire Global Automotive and Appliance Components businesses.
Educational Background
Mr. Martel earned his B.A. degree in Mathematics from Colby College in Waterville, ME in 1976. In 1982 he received a Masters
of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Operations Management from Cornell University.
Professional and Personal Affiliations
Mr. Martel is a member of the steering committee of KPMG Automotive Share Forum. He serves on the Board of Trustees for
the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He is a volunteer for walk-a-thons ALS in Chicago. He is also a fundraiser for
Generations Capital Campaign St. Athanasius Parish in Evanston, IL. He is a past assistant scout master for Troop 170
in Unionville, CT.
