Philip M. Gresh, Jr. is Executive Vice President of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturer of highly engineered components and industrial systems and consumables. With $15.9 billion in revenues, ITW is a multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time industrial products and equipment. The Company consists of 840 business units in 60 countries and employs some 60,000 people.
Professional Background
Mr. Gresh joined ITW Hi-Cone USA in 1989 as Vice President of Sales. He became Vice President/General Manager of Hi-Cone USA in 1990 and President of Hi-Cone Businesses Worldwide in 1994. He was named Executive Vice President in 2000. He is responsible for the Signode Packaging businesses and the global Plastics, Foils and TTR businesses. Previously he was responsible for ITW Consumer Products, Decorative, Marking and Static Control business segments. Prior to joining ITW, Mr. Gresh held positions with Continental Can Company, Inc. in Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Connecticut and Chicago. He was also President of Heuft USA in Downers Grove, IL. Mr. Gresh also spent three years active and eight years active reserve duty in the U.S. Navy achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Mr. Gresh graduated from Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA in 1970, earning a B.A. degree in General Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Gresh is a member of the Board of Directors for The Duchossois Group and Edward Hospital Foundation. He is an advisory board member for the Ocean Conservancy.
