E. Scott Santi is Vice Chairman of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturer of highly engineered components and industrial systems and consumables. With $15.9 billion in revenues, ITW is a multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time industrial products and equipment. The Company consists of 840 business units in 60 countries and employs some 60,000 people.
Mr. Santi has spent his entire career with ITW. He joined ITW in 1983 as a sales representative for ITW�s Buildex division. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Santi progressed through a series of sales and marketing management assignments at Buildex and at ITW�s Paslode division. In 1995, he was named General Manager of ITW�s Vortec division. He was appointed Vice President & General Manager of ITW�s Hobart Ground Power business in 1997 and became Vice President & General Manager of Hobart Brothers in 1998. In 2002, he was promoted to Group President for ITW�s Welding Products Group, adding responsibility for ITW�s welding businesses in Europe and Asia. In 2004, he was named Executive Vice President of ITW�s global Welding businesses. Mr. Santi was elected Vice Chairman in December of 2008.
Mr. Santi graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Accounting, and received a Masters in Business Administration from the JL Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in 1992.
Mr. Santi is a member of the Board of Directors of W.W. Grainger (GWW). He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ravinia Festival Association, a member of the Board of Trustees of MAPI (Manufacturer�s Alliance), and a member of the Advisory Board of Northwestern University�s Master of Manufacturing and Management (MMM) program. Mr. Santi is also a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Executives Club of Chicago. He is a founding sponsor of the LEARN Excel charter school through the Chicago Renaissance Schools Fund.
