Danville Warewash Families Team Up to Produce PPE for First Responders

Tammy Spears and Cordell Brooks, wife and son of ITW-FEG Warewash Hobart employees Jeff Spears and Thomas Brooks in Danville, Kentucky, teamed up to 3D print plastic components for The Montana Mask. Tammy, a middle school Library Media Specialist, and Cordell, a high school student, both worked around the clock designing and printing personal protective equipment to give to the local hospital. The pair used their own 3D printers along with others on loan to complete the task. The objects they printed were never handled with bare hands; instead, they were gathered with gloves and placed in zippered plastic bags.

Tammy also sews cloth face coverings/masks and recently began teaching a local business how to make these cloth masks. In addition, she 3D prints PRUSA face shields that have been distributed to four hospitals.

ITW-FEG Warewash Hobart in Danville and the rest of ITW would like to say, “We are very proud of our teammates and their families!”

The Montana Mask Community Model is available to the public and the PRUSA Face Shield printer file can be downloaded.
